Café De Blonde Pater has often won various national and international awards such as: The Barista Championships, The tastiest sandwich of the Netherlands, The Nijmegen Terrace Award and last September a first position in the Misset Coffee Top 100. Both its cosy, informal character and its quality guarantee a full café, every day. Besides, the café intends to further expand, to the wonderful neighbouring building.
"Quality can be measured in various ways", Nicky explains. "Important factors are: speed, employees, used materials and finally the product itself. It’s a search for the best quality at an attractive price". Café De Blonde Pater is constantly improving and renewing. For this reason Café De Blonde Pater decided to use Sit & Heat instead of traditional terrace heating. All heaters have been removed. The café saves approximately €3000 per year!
Heating is often unnecessary
"Usually, our café is filled with people. The terrace is a logical extension, yet requires good heating in winter. Our heaters used to warm up and attract people. An enormous waste of energy". Nowadays, only are guests are heated, not the entire room. “The reactions of our guests so far are fantastic, of course.
